Raindropss 3rd Annual Calendar launch and Lifetime Achievement Award to Dr. M. Balamurali Krishna and Dr. M.S. Swaminathan
Legendary Musician Dr. M. Balamuralikrishna and Father of Green Revolution Dr. M.S. Swaminathan were felicitated with Lifetime Achievement Award by Raindropss, a renowned youth-based social organisation widely known in spreading social awareness messages through entertainment and media. Music Director A.R.Raihanah (Sister to Oscar winning Music Composer A.R.Rahman) is the Brand Ambassador of Raindropss.
“Dr. M. Balamuralikrishna and Dr. M.S. Swaminathan were awarded with the lifetime achievement award for their contributions towards their respective fields over the last few decades. It is notable that, both have been awarded the Padma Vibhushan, India’s second-highest civilian honour, for their outstanding contributions. At the event on Dec 12 held at Rani Seethai hall, Raindropss launched its 3rd annual calendar ‘Maatram Thaedi – Be The Change 2016’ in aid of Ability Foundation, towards its work for furthering the lives of people with disabilities and Chennai flood Relief & Rehabilitation.
The first copy of the calendar was released by Dr. M. Balamuralikrishna and recieved by Dr. M. S. Swaminathan, the part of the funds from its sales will be donated to Ability Foundation, towards its work for empowering the lives of persons with disabilities and Chennai flood Relief & Rehabilitation works. “The rationale behind this project is that firstly, it will show the pictures of achievers whom the common people can take inspiration from, after all inspiration is caught and not taught; secondly, the proceeds goes towards a noble cause,”. Raindropss kick started its Chennai Flood Rehabilitation works during the occasion, providing essential groceries to the flood-affected families and they will be supported with business opportunities. We are also working out a plan where the affected people can earn money by working for organisations involved in rehabilitation works, says Aravind Jayabal, Founder and Creative Head of Raindropss.
The calendar has featured achievers across various walks of life such as Dr.N.C.Rajamani : Senior Vice President – Astro, Malaysia, Tamil Orator Dr.Gnanasambandan, Scientist N.Valarmathi, Dr. M.
